MD Lash Factor Ultima Prostaglandin Free Lash Conditioner

MD Lash Factor Ultima Eyelash Conditioner

$199.00

The same physician, the same standard — formulated without prostaglandins. MD Lash Factor® Ultima is the prostaglandin-free member of the MD Lash Factor® family, developed by Dr. Susan Lin, M.D. It is a co-equal choice alongside the Original — not a lighter version — created for people whose eyes ask for a gentler conditioning approach without giving up the MD® standard of care.

Two formulas, one choice

MD Lash Factor® comes in two suitability-matched options at the same price. Choose by what fits your eyes, not by strength:

  • Original — the patented formula (US Patent 8,206,695) built around a cosmetic-grade prostaglandin analogue, for maximum conditioning results.
  • Ultima (this product)prostaglandin-free, conditioning the lash line through a peptide-and-botanical complex. Formulated for sensitive eyes and situations where a prostaglandin-free choice is preferred.

Who Ultima is for

  • Contact lens wearers and those with self-described sensitive eyes.
  • Anyone who has experienced irritation or redness with prostaglandin-based lash products.
  • People using prescription eye-pressure (glaucoma) medication — please consult your eye-care professional before use.
  • Those who are pregnant or nursing and prefer a prostaglandin-free option — consult your physician before use.

What it does

  • Conditions the lash line to support the look of fuller, healthier-appearing lashes.
  • Helps improve the appearance of brittle or damaged-looking lashes and reduce the look of breakage.
  • Supports lash resilience with conditioning peptides and biotin.
  • Lightweight, fragrance-free, and gentle enough for daily use along the upper lash line.

Key conditioning actives

  • Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1 & Apigenin — a peptide-and-botanical complex that conditions the lash line.
  • Panthenol, Biotin & amino acids (Acetyl Cysteine, Acetyl Methionine, Proline) — support softer, more resilient-looking lashes.
  • Ergothioneine & Oleanolic Acid — antioxidant support for the lash line.

Efficacy: the same formula, evaluated

Ultima’s prostaglandin-free formula is the identical formula used in MD® Brow, evaluated in an independent 56-day Spincontrol study (23 subjects) that combined objective photographic hair-count and colour analysis with subject self-evaluation. In the self-evaluation, a statistically significant majority rated their brow hair as looking better (83%), thicker (78%), more conditioned (78%), healthier (87%), and more hydrated (87%) — with 87% agreeing the product did not irritate the eyes or skin. Ultima brings this same conditioning formula to the lash line.

Percentages reflect subject self-evaluation on brow hair using this same formula; the study also included objective photographic analysis. Lash length and fullness are not claimed for Ultima.

The science: independently tested for safety

MD Lash Factor® Ultima uses a physician-developed, prostaglandin-free formula backed by independent safety and consumer-perception testing.

  • Ophthalmologist-tested, 4-week in-use ocular safety study. In an IRB-approved in-use evaluation conducted at Clinical Research Laboratories (Study CRL32009) under the supervision of a board-certified ophthalmologist, 33 women — including contact lens wearers, non-wearers, and people with self-assessed sensitive eyes — used the formula daily for four weeks. The formula “did not demonstrate a potential for eliciting ophthalmic irritation” and was determined clinically safe for all three groups.
  • Examined by an ophthalmologist. No corneal abnormalities or superficial punctate keratopathy were observed on slit-lamp examination, and there were no clinically significant changes in visual acuity or tear-film break-up time.
  • Suitable for contact lens wearers. In that study, no changes in contact lens colour, scratches, or deposits were observed after four weeks of use.
  • 52-subject repeat-insult patch test (RIPT). In an independent RIPT conducted by AMA Laboratories, Inc., the formula was evaluated in 52 subjects for dermal irritation and sensitisation potential.
  • Independent EU cosmetic safety assessment. A qualified safety assessor reviewed the full formulation under EU Cosmetics Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 and concluded that every ingredient carries an adequate margin of safety and that the product is safe for use as directed.

Frequently asked questions

How is Ultima different from the Original MD Lash Factor®?
Both are physician-formulated by Dr. Susan Lin and priced the same. The Original is built around a patented cosmetic-grade prostaglandin analogue (US Patent 8,206,695) for maximum conditioning results. Ultima is prostaglandin-free, conditioning the lash line with a peptide-and-botanical complex (Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1, Apigenin, panthenol, biotin). Choose by suitability, not strength: if you wear contact lenses, have had irritation with lash serums, use prescription eye-pressure (glaucoma) medication, or are pregnant or nursing and prefer a prostaglandin-free option, Ultima is designed for you.

Does Ultima contain any prostaglandin or prescription drug?
No. Ultima contains no prostaglandin analogue and no prescription drug of any kind.

Is it safe if I wear contact lenses?
In the 4-week ophthalmologist-supervised in-use study, contact lens wearers showed no changes in lens colour, scratches, or deposits, and the formula did not demonstrate a potential for eliciting ophthalmic irritation. If you have an eye condition, check with your eye-care professional before use.

I had irritation with another lash serum — can I use Ultima?
Ultima is the prostaglandin-free option created for exactly this situation. Introduce it gradually and discontinue use if irritation occurs.

How long until I see results?
Ultima is a conditioner intended for daily, ongoing use. Use one stroke along the upper lash line each night as part of your routine.
